SIPdia is a SIP softphone, an app that turns your Mac, iPhone or iPad into a phone for a SIP account. You enter the server, username and password from your PBX or SIP provider, and SIPdia registers and places and receives calls over the internet.
SIPdia has apps for macOS 14 or later and for iOS and iPadOS 17 or later. There is no Windows, Linux or Android version at the moment.
Yes. SIPdia does not provide phone numbers or calling service. It connects to a SIP account you already have, from a PBX such as Asterisk, Issabel or FreePBX, or from a SIP provider.
SIPdia is freemium. The free plan includes one SIP account with calling, hold, transfer and TLS/SRTP. SIPdia Premium adds more accounts, call recording, and call forwarding with Do Not Disturb. Prices will be shown on the pricing page once published.
Not yet. The app must be open to receive calls. On iPhone it unregisters about 20 seconds after it leaves the foreground, so calls go to voicemail or forwarding. Push notifications for incoming calls are not implemented.
SIPdia speaks standard SIP over UDP, TCP or TLS with Opus and G.711 audio, so it registers with most standards-based servers. Setup has been documented for Issabel, and general guides exist for Asterisk, FreePBX and SIP providers. Check your server's codec, transport and NAT settings.
They can be. Choose TLS as the transport to encrypt SIP signaling, and set Encrypt audio to Required to use SRTP for the media. Your server must support both, and the server's TLS certificate must be issued by a public certificate authority.
Bring the SIP account you already have. Download links appear here as each release is published.
